MAYWOOD DOLPHINS SWIM TEAM
Welcome to the Maywood Dolphins Swim Team website! The Maywood Dolphins Swim Team is a not for profit team competing out of the Maywood Municipal Pool. The goal of the team is to provide an environment where children can get physically fit while learning and improving the four competitive swim strokes. The season begins after the close of school in June and continues to the end of July or beginning of August, depending on the level of success each individual swimmer achieves. The swim season is capped with a team party complete with food, games and award recognitions.
New swimmers are always welcome to get in on the fun. The swim team is open to swimmers ages 5 to 17. Practices are weekday mornings prior to regular hours of operation. Swim meets are held in the evenings or on Saturday mornings. In order to become a team member, swimmers must be members of the Maywood Pool and pass a minimum skills swim test.

Skill Requirements
5-6 Must be able to swim independently 15 yards
7-8 Must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards)
9-10 Must be able to competently swim 25 yards of freestyle and one other competitive stroke
11-17 Must be able to dive and competently swim 50 yards of freestyle and some other competitive stroke
Fees
The registration fee for the swim team is $10.00 per swimmer with a $25.00 maximum per family. An additional late
fee of $10.00 per swimmer with a $20.00 maximum per family will be charged after June 23, 2011.
Volunteers are key in any organization, and in order to fulfill the need for volunteers at swim meets, each
family will also be required to submit a separate $50.00 “volunteer” deposit. This deposit will be
refunded when the volunteer commitment has been satisfied. If you choose not to volunteer, the $50.00
will become part of the team’s general funds. Checks for the registration fee and volunteer deposit should
be made payable to the “Maywood Swim Team”.
The Swim Team Parents Association is a group of parents that works with the swim coaches to organize swim meets, prepare communication materials and help insure the swimmers have a fun and positive experience.
Registration
To register your child(ren) for the Maywood Dolphins Swim Team, print out and complete both the Registration Form and Volunteer Form (1 per family) and bring it to registration on June 9th. You can register before June 9th by mail. Simply follow the mailing instructions on the form.
